Pilates is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that works to tone all muscle groups with a specific emphasis on the core. It is rooted in the original methods practiced by Joseph Pilates including linking breath with movements to target specific core muscles. The low impact movements in a Pilates class work to build strength, tone muscles, and create long, lean body lines.
Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes will blend the Classical Pilates Method with modern exercise techniques by using props and light weights. This class is for any fitness level, as modifications are always suggested. Pilates mat is a challenging yet safe method to sculpt your body, increase flexibility, and improve functional movement in your everyday life.
The class will be performed mostly seated and laying on a Yoga mat. All levels of fitness can benefit from this class and are welcome and encouraged.
