Shred is an AMRAP Strength Training format consisting of 5 major circuits of work. Each circuit is composed of 3 sets: Upper Body, Legs, and Core at a set number of reps for As Many Rounds As Possible (AMRAP) In 8 minutes. This allows the participant to work at their maximum in a targeted total body circuit promoting muscle and cardiovascular fatigue in those areas, compounded by stacking up to 5 circuits together, participants, with consistent attendance, will quickly begin to experience metabolic conditioning.
Minimal rest and transitions keep the body working and heart pumping. Participants are encouraged by the coach to work as hard as they can in that time frame, whether it is heavy weights, fast rounds, or a combination of the two, setting goals, and/or using the group atmosphere and music for motivation will keep the members coming back for more.
An added benefit of this type of training is EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) that keeps the body burning extra calories the rest of the day as it returns to homeostasis. The burn is in direct correlation to how intense the participant works, so that is even more encouragement. Coaches will be instructing form one on one and at the class level, correcting form and keeping movement safe everyone in the room!
Classes are 55 minutes.
